A Hug from The Ocean

Even after you left me I still woke up

I didn’t think about you or find you

I went to the ocean

To breathe one more time

The seashells wincing over how they have missed me

They will remind me that the sea still stands

Telling them about what I’ve done

The ocean even cried itself

It wrapped its cool salt body around me gently

As my body lost all control & standing

And took me away, into a deep place where no man roamed

she told me

“From the darkness comes light”

As I lost my breath and my lungs exclaimed for air

That is when I saw the Illumination

The ocean rocked me back and forth like a mother

with her infinite body that births and kills

That is when you came to look for me—

She told you that she held me when you went away

You waited for me but I was not to come back
